Police arrested four suspects in gas stations armed robberies

05th September 2018 Quick Police work and great effort by the public has seen the swift arrest of four suspects, two males and two females following armed robbery incidents at two separate Gas Stations this morning Wednesday 5th of September 2018.

At around 3:00am, a man disguised in a mask approached the Konifelenisi Gas Station at Fanga, and open fired into the building.

The man, armed with a .22 semi-automatic rifle, demanded cash before fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle that was parked at the station.

A male Security Guard at the Gas Station sustained gun-shot wound to his left arm. He was treated for his injury and was released from the hospital.

At around 4:00am the same man disguised in a mask, approached the Luna’eva Gas Station in Veitongo.

He was armed with the same rifle, demanded cash from the 31-year-old male station attendant.

During this incident the suspect and the station attendant got into a fight where the suspect shot the station attendant four times, before fleeing the scene leaving behind the firearm as well as his disguise.

Police arrested all four suspects from Sopu an hour later and have secured the firearm used in these crime.

The 31-year-old station attendant is in a stable condition at Vaiola Hospital.

Police Investigation continues.
