New Zealand PM arrives Tonga on Pacific Mission

06th March, 2018 New Zealand’s Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Jacinda Ardern and a delegation touched down Fua’amotu International Airport this evening.

She was welcomed by Tonga’s Minister for MAFFF Hon. Semisi Fakahau along with the Minister for Health Hon. Dr. Saia Piukala, Minister for Internal Affairs Hon. ‘Akosita Lavulavu and New Zealand’s new High Commissioner to Tonga H.E. Tiffany Babington.

Tonga is Ardern’s third stop in her first Pacific tour as Prime Minister after visiting Samoa on Sunday and Niue yesterday.

The one-day official trip will include a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Pohiva and cabinet, site visits to Fasi Government Primary School and line mechanics who are rebuilding the electricity network.
