Commissioning of New Toilet Block for Folaha Government Primary School

29 November 2012, His Excellency Dr. Kazuchika Hamuro, Japan’s Ambassador to Tonga together with the Minister of Education and Training Hon. Dr. ‘Ana Maui Taufeulungaki commissioned the new lavatory Block for Government Primary School of Folaha on Thursday 29th 2012.

The new Toilet Block built by South Seas Construction Ltd for Folaha Government Primary School provide a cleaner safe environment for both students and teachers.

This project contributes the Tonga Strategic Development Framework (TSDF) strategy # 15 –Continuing to focus on government provision of primary education...

The cost of this project amounted to TOP $40,468.00 which was funded by the Government of the People of Japan under the Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security program (GGP). In attendance were Government Officials, members of Folaha Community, Principal and Teachers of Folaha Primary School and other guests were also present to witness this special occasion.

GGP & MOFNP involvement:
The GGP is being managed by the Aid & Project Management Division of the Ministry of Finance &
National Planning. The grant amount for this project is between TOP $150,000 – $200,000 per application;
