Japanese Government Scholarship Recipients Congratulated

22 September 2011. H.E Mr. Yasuo Takase, Ambassador of Japan in the Kingdom of Tonga congratulated Ms. Lute Finau the selected recipient of the Japanese Government Scholarship (under the Teacher's Training Students) for 2011 on Thursday afternoon September 22nd at the Embassy of Japan in Nuku'alofa.

"I really hope you will be very successful in studying in Japan. So far students from Tonga have been successful," the Ambassador said when Ms. Finau paid a courtesy visit.

Lute Finau of Tofoa, Tongatapu graduate from the University of the South Pacific in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in History, Politics and Geography. She is currently a Senior Teacher for forms 5 & 6 students and Head of the History Department of Lavengamalie Christian College.

Lute is to commerce her studies this October 2011 at the Tokyo Gakugei University in Japan, for a duration of one year and a half.

Every year, the Japanese Government Scholarship is made available by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology which offers scholarships to international students who wish to study in graduate schools as well as universities, colleges of Technology and vocational training schools. The Japanese Government has continuously accepted Tongan people who wished to pursue their studies in Japan since 1995.
