CONSULTING SERVICES FOR STRENGTHENING THE USE OF RISK INFORMATION IN LAND-USE PLANNING

The Government of the Kingdom of Tonga has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Tonga Post-Tsunami Reconstruction Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include:
1) Strengthen the planning and GIS units of the Ministry of Lands Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources in producing and sharing hazard and risk information.
2) Develop risk information for Niuatoputapu and elsewhere in the Kingdom to support land use planning and community preparedness.
3) Develop a framework for integration of risk information and maps in land use planning for Niuatoptapu and elsewhere in the Kingdom.
The Government of Tonga now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures of Selection Based on the Consultant's Qualifications (CQS) set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (dated May 2004, revised October 2006 and May 2010).
