Following the Coronation celebrations on Tuesday 21st HM Kiingi Tuheitia and Consort Makau Ariki Atawhai will host Their Majesties The King and Queen to a number of meetings and visits to various business and community operations developed by the Maori Tribes.
Their Majesties The King and Queen will also be the Guests of Honour at a Civic function to be hosted in Auckland by the Maori King and the Mayor of Auckland His Worship Len Brown, on Monday 27th August.
The close ties with the Maori Leaders were established during the Reign of His late Majesty King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV and Her Majesty Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho, The Queen Mother, when the late Maori Queen Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahuy paid regular visits to Nuku'alofa to attend State celebrations.
Te Arikinui Tuheitia Paki succeeded his mother, The Maori Queen in August 2006 and His Late Majesty King George Tupou V attended the celebrations to mark the first year of reign of Kiingi Tuheitia in 2007.
His Majesty Kingi Tuheitia and Consort attended the Coronation of His Late Majesty King George Tupou V in August 2008 and had paid regular visits to Nukualofa to attend State celebrations including the 85th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho, The Queen Mother in May 2011.
The Maori King's last visit to Nuku'alofa was in March to attend the State Funeral of His Majesty King George Tupou the Fifth.
