Crime Report for Period 12th - 19th February, 2012

21 February, 2012. Total 58 criminal offences registered during the period 12 - 19 February 2012, compared to some amount offences that were previously reported.

Out of the 58 crimes 37 were registered at Central Police Station, 10 at Mu'a Station, 01 at Vaini Station, 09 at Nukunuku Station, 01 at Neiafu Station.

Housebreaking was the most reported crime with 18 offences followed by 14 Theft, 13 Assault, 05 Embezzlement, 02 each of Use of threatening language to government servant, False pretence, 01 each of Willful damage to property, Killing or maiming cattle, Bodily harm, and Assaulting or obstructing government servant..

Regarding other acts beside Criminal Offences Act and Traffic Act Offences total 20 offences were registered compared to 21 offences the previous week. Drunkenness and Disorderly behavior the most committed offence.

Under the Traffic Act and Regulation total of 278 offences were registered compared to 226 offences the previous week. Not licensing of motor vehicle for quarter March, 2012 was the most committed offence.

At approximately 0130hrs today, police received report that a shooting with a pistol happened at the frontage of the HELEPEKU CLUB on Fatafehi Rd. Fortunately no one was hurt or injured. Police have taken into Custody two 26 yrs old men from Fasimoeafi to be taken before the Magistrate whilst search continues for the weapon.
