The Takipo: Vigil of His Late Majesty

26 March 2012  The Royal Family Prayers began as His Majesty lies-in state at the Throne Room of the Royal Palace in Nuku'alofa.

At six o'clock in the evening, school children lit the streets of Nuku'alofa with traditional kerosne lid lamps as part of the vigil.

A twelve-hour vigil from six o'clock in the evening to six o'clock in the morning was conducted with prayer services from various congregation and church demonimations.

5:00 AM    Tokaikolo'ia Kalaisi Church
6:00 AM    Final Royal Family Prayer Service

The Royal Family Prayer Services were led by the Royal Chaplain and members of the Nuku'alofa Free Wesleyan Centenary Church.
