His Majesty King George Tupou V signs the Condolence books for the many victims of the Christchurch and Japan disasters

21 March 2011  His Majesty The King today expressed his sympathy for the many lives lost in the recent earthquake in Christchurch and the earthquake and tsunami in Japan by visiting the Chanceries, to sign the Condolence books in memory of the many victims of the disasters.

His Majesty was received at the New Zealand Chancery by the High Commissioner, Dr Jonathan Austin who took the opportunity to convey sincere appreciation to His Majesty for His message of condolence to the Governor General and the families of the victims of the earthquake in Christchurch.

His Majesty was greeted at the Embassy by the Ambassador, His Excellency Yasuo Takase who also expressed sincere gratitude to His Majesty for visiting the Chancery to express His condolences for the many victims of the disaster in Japan.
