SITUATION:
SEVERE TROPICAL CYCLONE TOMAS (CATEGORY 3) WAS LOCATED 380KM SOUTH SOUTHWEST
OF NUKU'ALOFA AT 9:00AM THIS MORNING.CLOSE TO ITS CENTER THE CYCLONE HAS
AVERAGE WIND SPEED OF 75 KNOTS DECREASING TO 60KNOTS IN THE NEXT 12 HOURS.
THE CYCLONE IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 14 KNOTS AWAY FROM THE GROUP.ASSOCIATED
CLOUD BANDS,STRONG WINDS AND SHOWERS AFFECT TONGA.

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA.
FRESH TO STRONG NE WINDS GUSTY AT TIMES,DECREASING AND TURNING NORTH TO
NORTHWEST LATER TODAY.OVERCAST WITH SOME SHOWERS,HEAVY AT TIMES
