In the Public Service, the Head of Department (HOD) is either being referred to as the Secretary or in some Ministries and more commonly large Departments of a Ministry, a 'Director'. Nowadays, the position is also being referred to as 'Chief Executive Officer' (CEO), a term mostly used in the private businesses and sectors. All three salutations refer to the highest management position within a Department, second-in command only to the Minister who is the head of the Ministry itself.

Outline below is the list of Chief Executive officers and respective Heads of Department for each Minisry. As of July 2012 -the Government restructure was effective.
